  • Change the restore location to original location by clicking on Desktop.

  • Hit the Restore button. Your download starts immediately. The Restore Status shows the status of your recovered files.

  • Once the recovery is done, open QuickBooks.

  • If you get a prompt to choose a company file, go to the restored file.

Another solution you can follow is given below if the above-mentioned steps didn’t help you. You can restore the backup file to your system if you created backup files via QuickBooks and added them in your backup selection. Follow these:

  • Double-click the CrashPlan app’s icon on your desktop to open it.

  • Find and choose your QuickBooks backup files. Default locations are:

  1. Windows Vista, 7, 8: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks\<company name>.qbb

  2. OS X: /Users/<username>/Documents/<company name>.qb2017-<backup date>.dmg

  • Optionally, you can change the default restore settings.

  • Give a click on Restore and the download will begin immediately. The Restore Status will display the status of your recovered files.

Note: If you keep your QuickBooks backfile somewhere else and not in the default location then you can use the search bar in the CrashPlan application to search for files with the file extension .qbb (Windows) or .qb2017(OSX).
